CHALLENGE FRANCK PINEAU
Supporting the 9-Round Series in Yonne, Burgundy: Racing for Kids and All Ages
We’re proud to support the 9-round cycling series across the Yonne in the Burgundy region — a community-focused race programme that brings riders of all ages together, from the youngest hopefuls to seasoned adults. As sponsors of the leaders’ jerseys at every event, REDBROS is committed to encouraging participation, celebrating achievement and helping build the next generation of cyclists.
What the series means
Community spirit: The series creates a friendly, local racing environment where families and clubs come out in force. It’s as much about cheering on the riders as it is about competition.
Development pathway: With races for children through to adults, the series offers progressive race experience. Young riders gain confidence and skills in a safe, structured setting.
Regional pride: Racing across Yonne showcases Burgundy’s beautiful roads and villages — a perfect backdrop for grassroots cycling.
Jerseys we sponsor At every round we sponsor the distinctive leaders’ jerseys that mark out the event’s top performers. These include:
Yellow Jersey: The overall leader’s jersey, awarded to the rider with the lowest cumulative time. A timeless symbol of supremacy in stage racing.
Polka Dot Jersey: Worn by the king/queen of the climbs — the rider who collects the most points on designated hill climbs.
Sprint Jersey: Awarded to the most consistent finisher in intermediate sprints and fast finishes.
Best Young Rider: Given to the highest-placed young competitor, encouraging youth progression in racing.
Current Leaders’ Jersey (as seen on adults): The same design worn by adult leaders is mirrored for the kids’ categories where appropriate, giving younger riders the thrill of wearing a real competition leader’s kit and seeing themselves in the same colours as elite competitors.
Why jersey sponsorship matters
Recognition and motivation: A leaders’ jersey is an instant badge of achievement. For children especially, donning a yellow, polka dot or sprint jersey is a huge motivational boost and can inspire continued participation.
Visibility for grassroots cycling: Sponsorship shows that local brands value community sport. It helps attract spectators, volunteers and new entrants to the sport.
Practical support: Funding leaders’ jerseys helps organisers focus resources on safe courses, proper marshalling and quality event delivery.
Racing for kids and all ages The 9-round format encourages repeat participation, letting riders chase overall honours while enjoying single-day excitement. Kids’ races are designed to be safe, fun and competitive, often with shorter laps and age-appropriate distances. Older categories face tougher terrain and longer stages, meaning there’s racing for every ability and ambition.
Photos and pride Seeing young riders wearing the same style of leaders’ jersey as the adults is a reminder of why we support the series: to give every rider, regardless of age, a moment of pride and a tangible mark of achievement. The current leaders’ jersey — the same design worn by adult leaders in the attached photo — is a particular highlight for kids who aspire to grow into competitive cycling.
Join us in supporting local racing We encourage clubs, families and cycling fans to come out to the rounds in Yonne. Cheering on young riders, applauding winners in their leaders’ jerseys and enjoying Burgundy’s scenery helps keep grassroots cycling strong. REDBROS is delighted to play a part in that effort by sponsoring the leaders’ jerseys across all nine rounds — celebrating yellow, polka dots, sprints and the best young riders who represent the future of the sport.
